Centre for Multidisciplinary Area Studies (CenMAS) brings together research, teaching, and project-based activities within a single, integrated framework. It connects established academic expertise with new international research capacity and strategically developed projects, creating a coherent structure for multidisciplinary area studies at the Faculty of Arts, Charles University. By linking these different components, CenMAS supports both the long-term development of area studies and the ability to address key global challenges through collaborative and comparative research.
Department of Latin American Studies (OLAS)

Centre for African Studies (CAFR)

The CenMAS Research Group is an international research team that forms the core of CenMAS’s research activities, bringing together scholars from different regions to study contemporary global challenges through comparative and interdisciplinary approaches.
