Biography
Jakub Koláček graduated in Arabic Studies and Historical Sociology at Charles University, where he also received his Ph.D. in History and Culture of Asia and Africa. He works as an assistant professor at the Department of the Middle East, Faculty of Arts, Charles University and as a postdoctoral researcher at the Peace Research Center Prague. During his studies and career, he spent internships and fieldwork periods in Iran, Egypt, and Jordan. He regularly attends international conferences, publishes his research in academic journals, and comments on current Middle Eastern politics in the Czech media.
Main research interests: modern Middle Eastern history, Islamic history, Iran, Islamic environmentalism, environmental history and politics of the Middle East
